Maine's fall foliage doesn't arrive everywhere at once. The color moves south through the state over several weeks, starting in the north woods and working down toward the coast. Winthrop and the Maranacook Lake region sit in central Maine, which typically means the color show lands a little later than the famous northern Maine displays, and a little earlier than the coastal towns.
